He believes that God is dead, and preaches about the Superman who has surpassed the notions of good and evil and embraced the idea of eternal recurrence. The Origin of Species

The Origin of Species

The Theory of natural selection constructed by Charles Darwin is comprised in his Revolutionary Work of Scientific Literature called the Origin of Species. This piece of Work recounts his ideas on the process of evolution of living beings based on the process of natural selection and it laid down the foundation for evolutionary biology. Initially published for Literary reasons, Charles Darwin's standing in the Scientific circles drew attention to its contents. Inviting criticism from Religious circles for its controversial conclusion, the Origin of Species was later accepted by the experts and several theories have been built upon it as addition to the field of evolutionary biology.

The contents of the book were severely backed by Darwinian evidence, which gave it its authenticity and is now considered a pioneering Work in effect for the study of modern evolution theory. The survival of the fittest is a Theory every person is familiar with, as it is often used as an expression in generic situations. Charles Darwin proposed a Theory that contains his views on population size and the species in general. Some of the key features of this book are the Building blocks of society. Some of these are as follows: each population size remains almost the same over time, species have to struggle in order to survive and individuals belonging to the same species differ significantly.

Darwin's Theory of evolution is still considered to be the best account ever given pertaining to the living being as an evolved species. Despite several modifications and rebukes, the hold of his book has not diminished. The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin was published by Fingerprint Publishing in 2013. It is available in paperback.

Key Features:

  • The Origin of Species includes several examples and accounts that led to this Darwinian school of thought besides the Theory itself.

The Story of my Experiments with Truth

The Story of my Experiments with Truth

The Story of My Experiments With The Truth is the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi. Summary of the Book He came like a tidal wave, with the promise of a calm breeze. He spoke of peace, and he promised total non-cooperation. A frail old man, clad in hand-woven khadi, the British didn’t take him seriously. After all, what could one fakir do against the British Empire? In retrospect, the dramatic awe the situation inspires is too good to be true. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born into a simple family. He studied to be a lawyer, was married young and loved his wife immensely. He began to realize the follies of being too beleaguered by sexual needs, and he gave up non-vegetarianism, trying meat only once. He went to London, where he studied Law and hoped to be a lawyer. He journeyed to South Africa to practice, and there, outside his home, he discovered the true Face of the British reign. He began to see how the coloured races were treated, and he began to fight against the regime. He returned to India, fuelled by one desire: independence. He battled the powerful British Empire with peace, nonviolence and total non-cooperation. His message of peace began to spread through the Indian People like a brushfire, and he led them in their fight for freedom. His teachings, principles and Philosophy inspired them, and in return, they gave him a new name, one History would never forget: the name of Mahatma Gandhi. This is his autobiography, one of the most widely read and most detailed accounts of his life ever written. About Mahatma Gandhi Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer, freedom fighter and one of the primary leaders of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. He is remembered for his acts of nonviolent defiance, such as the Dandi Salt March, the Quit India Movement and the Civil Disobedience Movement.

The Bhagwat Gita

The Bhagwat Gita

The Bhagwat Gita: Symphony of the Spirit is R. R. Varma’s interpretation. The land of the Children of Bharatha watched in quiet, as the familes of Pandu and Dhritarashtra clashed in battle in Kurukshetra for eighteen days. And just before the battle, Arjuna, one of the Pandavas, found himself crippled with fear and doubt, questioning his own values and morale. The Bhagwat Gita contains the words of wisdom of Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, as he explains that not fulfilling one's Dharma is the greatest sin. Summary of the Book The Bhagwat Gita, the Song Divine, is revered as one of the foremost treatises on Philosophy and Dharma. In its 700 profound verses, one can find the answer about life, the universe and the reason of why human beings are constantly put through birth and Death cycles. Liberation, Krishna explains, is attained by those who uphold Dharma. Arjuna's Dharma was to kill and reinstate his Family as the rightful rulers of Hastinapura. Krishna explains that man's repeated failure to uphold his Dharma is why he manifests himself, Time and again, to set right the path that humanity strays onto – dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge. Bhakti Yoga, Gyan Yoga and Karma Yoga are said to be the paths to reach the ultimate. An inquisitive examination of the ethical and moral struggles of man, the Bhagwat Gita is the sum total of man's greatest duties, and his worst fallacies. About R. R. Varma R. R. Varma is an Indian writer and author. His spiritual Books have been widely read as his perspectives are profound and insightful. He is associated with Prakash Books and has also authored the book Dynamics of Yoga: A Combination of Science and Spirituality.

Don'T Kill Him!: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh

Don'T Kill Him!: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh

Flipkart Official Review It isn’t easy to write a book about a public figure. It isn’t easy to also write a book about your life spent with the public figure and having loved him and done everything as per his wish and command. “Don’t Kill Him! The Story of my Life with Bhagwan Rajneesh” by Ma Anand Sheela is a short chronicle of Ma Sheela’s life with Bhagwan (self-proclaimed) Rajneesh from the Time she met him, worked with him in setting up the commune at Poona and Oregon to the Time she resigned from the post of his secretary, was behind Bars for thirty-nine months, to what she did after. The book is divided into two parts. The first part speaks of the accusations on Ma Sheela and how she dealt with them. It also takes a turn to the years spent in prison by her and her so-called courage and persistence that kept her going. The second part is about how she joined the Rajneesh and her ways of working around the ashram and the setting of the Oregon commune. That in short, is the plot of the book. I think that for memoirs to make an impact, it needs to be honest and more so strongly backed by facts (if they are imperative to the book like in this one). There are a lot of inconsistencies in the book. On one hand Ma Sheela talks about how Rajneesh was different and how she still loves him and on the other she talks of how he falsely accused her and she had lost all respect for the man (implies it in the book). The so-called Bhagwan moved about in close to 100 Rolls Royce and owned Watches by the dozens, while his disciples did not have money to pay for his Meditation courses. This is the biggest indication of a lie of a man who claimed to combine capitalism with spirituality. “Don’t Kill Him” reads like a thriller and disappoints as a memoir.   Don’t Kill Him: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh is an autobiography of the Time the author spent as Personal assistant to celebrated mystic and spiritual guru Rajneesh, aka Osho. Summary Of The Book Don’t Kill Him: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh is a detailed account of how Ma Anand Sheela came to meet self-proclaimed godman Rajneesh, known to his followers as Osho, and about her relationship with him during her years as Rajneesh’s Personal assistant. There are a number of instances that Ma Anand Sheela recounts, regarding her meeting with Rajneesh and how he made her feel. Throughout the book, she proclaims her undying love and admiration for Rajneesh and how much the guru’s precepts and philosophies helped her in her life. There is also an explanation for the controversial bio-terror charges that were levelled against Ma Anand Sheela, and there is an account of her conviction and subsequent incarceration, and finally her exile in Europe. Ma Anand Sheela claims in Don’t Kill Him: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh that despite the fact that Rajneesh was responsible for her stint in jail, she never wavered in her love for him. The book explains the pains taken by her to set up the commune in Oregon known as Rajneeshpuram. Again, there are a number of accusations which Sheela defends in the book. Don’t Kill Him: The Story Of My Life With Bhagwan Rajneesh is essentially Sheela’s version of events, a firsthand account of what happened through the Eyes of the main accused. About Ma Anand Sheela Ma Anand Sheela was second-in-command to Rajneesh, and was his aide and Personal assistant. She shared a very intimate relationship with Rajneesh, and was consulted on all matters involving the Running of Rajneesh’s Meditation centres and other aspects. Sheela helped set up the Rajneeshpuram commune and worked for Rajneesh from 1981 to 1985. In 1985, faced with a number of criminal charges, she fled to Europe along with a number of followers. She was arrested in West Germany and extradited to USA, where she pleaded guilty to a few of the charges and spent 29 months in jail.
